If you weren't sleeping under a rock for the past week, you are probably aware that a Category 5 Typhoon named Yolanda (Haiyan) hit almost the whole region of Visayas and parts of Luzon and Mindanao last November 8. Along with strong winds and torrential rain, came giant waves that killed and destroyed almost everything along its path. As of today, Nov 13, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council has already recorded 2,275 deaths and still counting; many are still missing, many are injured and many are left homeless and hungry. Leyte and Samar, which were the two provinces that were badly hit, are still struggling to get on their feet. The national government, other nations, the various non-government organization both here and abroad are already working together to help these two provinces.
