Cebu-Bohol

I spent three days rediscovering Cebu and Bohol with my friends. It was really an awfully short time to explore those places because both provinces has a lot to offer. Still, I would have to say it was one of the most fun-filled, jampacked and memorable trip I had ever taken. We may have been pressed for time that we had to miss some places but the trip was still worth it.

I've been to Cebu and Bohol in 2008. But both provinces still did not disappoint me. They have amazing beaches, good sights and yummy foods. Here are pictures that may encourage you to go and explore both provinces.

CEBU!

Island Banca Cruises

Island banca better pay me for this free advertising. Haha. Anyway, their cruise and their boat was super amazing. The boat was really spacious and there were bean bags in the boat. The boatmen were very courteous and accomodating. They try their best to accomodate the whims of their passengers. The food they serve on the boat was yummy and fulfilling. And their boatmen shoot good pictures. Seriously. The pictures that were taken by one of our boatmen was good.

Nalusuan Island Resort and Marine Sanctuary

Entrance was a little expensive and the food was expensive (a can of softdrinks for P100). However, the place was really good. The water was really clear and the place was clean. Aside from swimming, they offer other amenities like kayaking, snorkeling and diving. Unfortunately, we were not able to do anything but swim because we have another destination to go to. Despite the expensive entrance, I would still recommend this place for its beauty.

Gilutungan Island

Fish feeding!! Snorkeling!! Gilutungan island is a good place for these. I'm not really a superb swimmer so I had a hard time propelling myself in the water. But, I would still recommend that you try snorkeling. Just don't do it by yourself because it wouldn't be fun. Haha. Also, bring bread. Fishes like bread.

Casa Verde
The Terraces, Ayala, Cebu

This restaurant is like Friday's but way way cheaper. The food was really yummy and fulfilling. I wish they have a branch in Manila (PLEASE HAVE A BRANCH IN MANILA!!!). I think we spent less than P1,500. And it was for 6 people.

Sampler - picture courtesy of www.TripOrTreats.com
Always start your meal in Casa Verde with this sampler. Everything in it was super good. Even the dips taste delicious. From all of this, I liked the buffalo wings the best. It was the right kind of spicy for me.

Brian's ribs
This enormous steak costs only P200. The steak was to die for. It was super yummy. After the lunch, the only thing left was its' bones.

Bohol!!

Chocolate Hills
Carmen, Bohol

The world famous CHOCOLATE HILLS!!! It was supposed to be color brown because it's summer but since we have a rainy summer this year, the hills were color green. It was breathtaking to see those hills. You would also love the myths about how they were formed. I already heard three versions of it.

Tarsiers

Those adorable primates that has humongous eyes. They are so cute. You wouldn't win a staring contest if you're up against those little guys. Just remember not take their pictures with your camera's flashes on. It could actually cost them their life. Also, try to give donations. It's actually used to feed these creatures.

Loboc River Cruise

They offer lunch on this cruise. The food isn't that exceptional but having lunch while riding the cruise would complete the Loboc cruise experience.

Alona Beach
Panglao, Bohol

Alona beach is actually a small stretch of paradise found in Panglao island. Panglao is actually famous for its beaches. If you want the beaches of Boracay but doesn't want the noise that goes with it, I suggest you go to this place. Also If you're on a budget, I would really suggest Alona beach because it is actually a public beach but still clean. Cheap accommodations are just a walk away from the beach front.

Peanut Kisses

Never leave Bohol without buying Peanut kisses. It's actually their delicacy and it's delicious. And it's really cheap. I wouldn't recommend this to people with peanut allergies though. One bite and you'll probably have rashes or something.

Three days was actually not enough but sadly we all had to go back to Manila. Although, it was such a short trip, we enjoyed it immensely. And I believe everybody is excited for the trip next year because: 1) its going to be longer; 2) its our 10th year anniversary; and 3) friends from the US are coming home.

If you're planning a trip with your family or friends, try doing it within the country. Support the country's tourism because we actually have awesome places.
